The Planning Company’s owner and creative director, Trina Chaney-Hoo, boasts a degree in Hospitality Management, as well as graduating Summa Cum Laude at Johnson and Wales University, where she also studied Culinary Arts.

After an extremely accomplished 13 years in Miami (during which time she taught herself Spanish!), Trina opened her very own event coordination business, The Planning Company, Inc., in Palm Beach in November of 2002. Since that time, The Planning Company has successfully executed countless luxury celebrations and experiences, including destination events, corporate retreats, and weddings.

While Trina’s resume speaks for itself, it doesn’t do justice to her creative brilliance or the knack for networking she brings to the table. In addition to running The Planning Company, she also manages her own coworking and event space. Her peers respect her and clients adore her.

Her professional experience is incomparable and her approach will keep you wanting more. At times, you’d swear she was a machine, but then she laughs and her genuine contagion takes over a room. Whatever she desires, she acquires!

She has planned wedding events up and down the entire east coast, from the deep south on breathtaking plantations, to coastal New England and sunny South Florida, all alongside some of the best of the best in the event industry.

She also offers a well-rounded knowledge from her days working at a bridal salon with stunning gowns; a floral and design firm where textures and colors are important; a stationery store where the finest detail can never be overlooked, and venues where all the magic happens.

The newest addition to our team, Giovana, hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. If we had to describe her in one word, we’d probably pick “multitalented.” Giovana seems to have done it all, with a background encompassing corporate event planning, executive-level marketing, and even a stint acting for television in Brazil! Now she brings her eclectic knowledge of those worlds to The Planning Company.

Giovana has a passion for bringing people together, speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish, is well-traveled and loves experiencing new cultures.

Elizabeth runs on creativity and loves nothing more than being an integral part of bringing someone’s wildest dreams to life. She loves to think outside the box and come up with ideas that not only enhance the experience but make it feel truly authentic and cohesive.

Elizabeth’s background as an editor gives her an eye for details that she puts to use in every facet of her work, from making sure something as important as your invitations are nothing short of perfect, all the way to looking over the rest of our shoulders to make sure our emails are free of typos. It’s a little annoying, but we love it anyway.

Since joining The Planning Company team, Elizabeth has discovered and honed her skill of hand lettering, making beautiful signs for both the office and for clients – just one more special touch she brings to the fold.

Don’t let her breezy personality and propensity for fits of laughter fool you – Jordan is a force to be reckoned with both behind the scenes and on-site for events. She brings to the team years of experience in the hotel industry ranging from concierge duties to catering and sales management, as well as a wide range of accomplishments working on events for The Planning Company.

Jordan’s love for weddings extends beyond event coordination… She is a talented model, having posed for fashion spreads as well as wedding dress shoots, and in her free time manages a personal blog that hi-lights some of her favorite wedding trends and lifestyle tips.
